（一）单一作者

　　引用单一作者时，有三种处理方式：

　　1.将被引作者的名字作为主语，括号里标注年份。例如：

　　Leakey (2001) speculates that perhaps we have not yet found the perfect linkbetween humans and apes.

　　2.将被引作者与年份一起放在括号内，中间以逗号隔开。例如：

　　In a recent study (Leakey, 2001), paleo anthropologistsfocused on Kenya Man ,a possible early hominid and ancestor of humankind.

　　3.将被引作者与年份以叙事方式写成介词短语作时间状语、被引作者的名字作为主语的完整陈述句。

　　In a study published in 2001, Leakey described finding a skull in the Kenya desert that turned out to be a candidate for humankind's ancestor.

　　（二）两位作者

　　引用两位作者时，常见的方式有两种：

　　1.将被引作者的名字作为主语，并用and连接，括号里标注年份。例如：

　　Much earlier, Grant and Change (1958 ) had discovered...

　　2.若将引用作者与年份一起放在括号内，则需用&连接。例如：

　　But in a previous study of aged rats (Grant&Change, 1958), the surprising element was...

　　（三）团体作者

　　有时，一篇文章是由某个委员会、机构、公司或政府机构作为一个团体撰写的。不管他们什么时候被引用在文章中，都应将其名字应该拼写出来。当然，团体名字只在初次引用时使用全拼，再次出现时可以使用以“首字母缩写”的形式出现。缩写的要求是作者必须在文本中可以提供足够的信息，以便读者在结尾的参考文献中能找到来源。例如：

　　初次引用时：

　　(National Institute of Mental Health [NIMH] , 2005 )

　　再次引用时：

　　(NIMH, 2005 )

　　但如果名字很短或者缩写后不容易被理解，那么每次提到都需要使用全拼:

　　(Harvard University , 2006 )

　　(Russell Sage Foundation , 2006 )

　　(Bendix Corporation , 2006 )

　　（四）个人通信

　　个人通信包括信件、备忘录、电子邮件和电话交谈。读者无法访问它们，且个人通信对研究人员的用途有限，因此无需出现在“参考文献”里。作者引用时可在文本中给出通信人姓名的首字母和姓氏，以及交流发生的日期即可。例如：

　　(A Sorensen, personal communication , November 19 , 2001 )

　　A.Sorensen (personal communication, November 19 , 2001 ) quickly approved the entire research project.

　　In two separate e-mails , Dr . Kazanjian approved the protocol for this significant autism research project (personal communication , November 19 , 2005 )

　　（五）注意事项

　　APA格式的好处在于它可以帮助读者立即确定被引作者和日期，而无需查看页面底部或结尾的参考文献。但是要注意，不要在一段内加入太多的参考文献，否则会让人丧失阅读兴趣，且无法突出段落内的重要信息。例如：

　　The protocol itself was faulty(Jacobson, 1995) thus the resulting research also was seriously flawed (Lester, 1961;Masters, 1961; Zimmerman, 1960 ) , and millions of dollars in time and equipment were wasted ( Smith , 1999 ).

　　为了既能够突出重点，也表示自己使用了引用，建议大家混合使用不同的括号和文本引用方式，比如下面这个例子，作者使用了三种引用方式，分别是将被引作者与年份以叙事方式写成介词短语作时间状语、被引作者的名字作为主语的完整陈述句；将被引作者的名字作为主语，括号里标注年份；将被引作者与年份一起放在括号内，中间以逗号隔开。（参见上文单一作者的引用方式）

　　In 1995 Jacobson acknowledged that the original protocol was faulty , so thatwhen Zimmerman (1960), Lester (1961) , and Masters (1961)performed their experiments, these , too , were flawed. The consequent loss of millions of dollars .in time and equipment has been well documented (Smith, 1999 ).

　　APA格式的参考文献(References)

　　文末参考文献通常需要另起一页。通常参考文献包括作者姓氏及名字首字母、发表年份、文章标题、期刊名称、卷好、发行号以及页码：

　　（一）期刊

　　1.单一作者或多个作者

　　若引用单一作者的文献，需要列举姓名、年份、标题、期刊名、卷号以及页码。

　　例如：

　　Harvey, O.L.(1980). The measurement of handwriting considered as a form of expressive movement. Quarterly Review of Biology, 55 , 231-249.
